Religious

A service by the local Minister or Priest in the parish where you live and conducted in the faith or church you are a member of.

This was the more traditional way and one that many will have experienced. It can be difficult when the family did not attend worship and who didn't know the local contact.

You will no doubt have been to such a service and sung hymns and had prayers which have moved you.

Unfortunately a lot of families do not want this if they are not members of a congregation or attend church.

This is where a Civil Celebrant can assist, they cannot conduct a service in a church or church graveyard, but they can conduct a semi religious service in the crematorium, funeral parlour or graveside to suit the family requirements and wishes.
